Walt Disney Imagineering continues its decades-long support of FIRST Robotics, a community that brings students together and prepares them for the future through team-based robotics competitions and mentorships. For 2023, Imagineers are mentoring students from Team 589 in California, but are offering a lot more than technical expertise and guidance.
Imagineers play an important role in the teams they mentor, helping reinforce FIRST’s mission of inspiring young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators. By engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, FIRST aims to inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
As Chloe Schroeder, Junior at Crescenta Valley High School and Director of External Operations, Team 589 stated, “I’ve learned so many valuable skills, teamwork and communication and problem solving.”
