It’s the first week of school for many in Florida, and Walt Disney World is making sure teachers have the most magical start to the school year with a surprise delivery of park tickets and a visit from everyone’s favorite pals.
The resort sprinkled pixie dust in public schools across Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Polk and Lake Counties with the help of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto. Check out all the joy, happiness and magic the visits brought:
“I used to work at Disney, and I always try to bring Disney magic into my classroom. Their support of teachers means everything to me,” said Elizabeth Castillo, a teacher at Discovery Intermediate in Osceola County.
Central Florida teachers play an important role in preparing the next generation of storytellers and dreamers, and it’s important they have the tools and resources needed to do that. So, Disney World is helping them bring even more programs and opportunities to life for Florida families with a new donation.
“Disney has supported our school district for years, and this latest investment means more kids will have access to career mentors and scholarship funds. It means expanded opportunities for students in Seminole County,” said Serita Beamon, Superintendent of Seminole County Public Schools.
This is all part of the Summer of Sharing at Walt Disney World. While summer is coming to an end in just a few weeks, there’s plenty more on the horizon. Stay tuned!
