Throughout the summer, Disney built upon its relationship with Fisher House Foundation by delivering special care packages filled with toys, games, books, and household goods to all the nearly 100 Fisher Houses across the country from Honolulu to Orlando. Fisher Houses offer free, temporary lodging to military and veteran families, allowing them to be close to their loved ones receiving medical care at a nearby military medical center or VA hospitals.
Check out this recap of Disney VoluntEARS making house calls to deliver the care packages in-person including special appearances by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck.
With this donation, Disney continues its existing collaborative relationship with Fisher House Foundation that began in 2016 at the Invictus Games Orlando. The company is honored to continue to help the Fisher House team bring comfort to the military and veteran families staying with them when they need it most.
Disney’s admiration for U.S. military service members, veterans and their families is an important part of our company’s history and dates back to the founding 100 years ago, beginning with founders Walt and Roy O. Disney who both served their country during World War I.
