Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (December 13, 2023) – Disney Vacation Club has revealed new details on The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, projected to begin welcoming guests in 2024. Tucked away in the peaceful woodlands of the Walt Disney World Resort, the refreshed cabins will make a relaxing retreat where guests can enjoy the comforts of home blended with the joys of staying in the great outdoors.

Each one-bedroom cabin will comfortably sleep up to six guests and include a main bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, a living area and dining area. The airy living room will feature comfortable sofa seating that can be easily pulled down to reveal a queen-size bed, for added sleeping space. Each cabin kitchen will come with its own refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and microwave oven. The main bedroom will feature a large queen-size bed, wall-mounted television and two bunk beds, adorned with whimsical artwork featuring Chip and Dale. For those looking to bring along their furry friend, there will also be a limited number of dog-friendly cabins available.

The cabin’s interior will be influenced by the resort’s idyllic scenery, with touches of Disney whimsy that harken back to the historic property’s heritage. Disney Imagineers are honoring the history of Fort Wilderness with design features that celebrate the resort’s early days and its four classic traditions; camping, canoeing, archery and fishing.

Some historical touches are more subtle. On the bunkbeds in the main bedroom, guests will find artwork featuring Chip and Dale gathering acorns around their tree house. In the background, you will notice a calendar helping them keep track of winter’s approach. The date highlighted on the calendar is November 19, which is the opening day of Fort Wilderness back in 1971.

Disney aficionados also will enjoy the postcard artwork in the bedroom featuring River Country, and The Junior Woodchucks of the World. Original artwork will also include familiar faces, including Mickey Mouse, Pluto and the dynamic chipmunk duo Chip and Dale.

Just a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom Park, families can enjoy a wealth of experiences among the 750 acres of the beloved grounds of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. From recreational activities such as equestrian trails, fishing and archery, to poolside relaxation and rootin’ tootin’ dining experiences, the resort is the perfect setting to create magical family memories for generations to come.

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are projected to open in various stages throughout 2024. The new cabins will be part of a collection of improvement projects underway at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to enhance the guest experience. Exciting developments include expanded dining options, refreshing pool areas and walking trails.

Additional information regarding sales and rental bookings will be released at a later date.
