Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks Opening This Summer  

Blizzard Beach to reopen next month, giving guests two water park choices this summer; Both water parks to be open for the first time since 2019; Two water park options among extensive list of new and fun experiences for young families coming to Walt Disney World Resort this summer  

LAKE BUENA VISTA Fla. (April 1, 2025) — As it celebrates its 30th anniversary today, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is poised to make an even bigger splash this summer. After a brief closure next month, Blizzard Beach will reopen for the summer from May 21 to September 7. 

This will mark the first time since 2019 that both Walt Disney World Resort water parks – Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon – will be open at the same time, meaning Walt Disney World guests can have wintery fun and tropical thrills this summer. And guests staying at a Walt Disney World hotel this summer can enjoy either water park on the day of their arrival.  

The 30th anniversary of Blizzard Beach continues throughout April with anniversary-themed dance parties, meet & greet opportunities with popular Disney characters dressed in winter attire, games, 30th anniversary temporary tattoos, specialty merchandise and mouth-watering food and beverages before briefly closing on May 1. That’s when Typhoon Lagoon opens with its tropical-themed experiences and thrilling attractions such as Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Humunga Kowabunga, Miss Adventure Falls. 

And the waves of water park activities extend well beyond sunset at Typhoon Lagoon this summer with the return of Disney H2O Glow After Hours. This nighttime event features all sorts of under-the-sea things to do, including dancing the night away to energetic music, Disney character meet & greets and complimentary snacks. Plus, kids get in for only $42.50, half the adult price of $85.
