LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2024) – Disney Springs is celebrating Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month with a new mural by Miami native Nicole Salgar at Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression. The mural marks the 24th addition to the Art Walk, a popular feature at Disney Springs Town Center at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida where guests can stroll past and take in vibrant murals by both local and international artists.

Salgar’s mural, “Viaje Despierto” (Awoken Journey), is inspired by her Colombian roots and is designed in hopes to inspire guests to be present and practice mindfulness in their daily lives. During the mural’s creation, Salgar took time to meet with aspiring artists and students from Osceola County School for the Arts, sharing her own artistic journey and inspiring the students to create their own artwork with confidence. Afterward, the students enjoyed some of the limited-time offerings in celebration of Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month including enjoying new menu items and VIP seating at the Advent Health Waterside Stage for Latin pop singer, Drey-C.

The new mural marks one of the many ways Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month through October 15. Various dining locations at the resort are offering Latin-inspired dishes which can be found in the Disney Eats 2024 Foodie Guide. At EPCOT, guests can sing their hearts out at the ¡Celebración Encanto! Sing-along, and guests can find special performances of fan-favorite Mariachi Cobre in the Mexico Pavilion.

As guests celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month they can use #TogetherWeAreMagia on social-media platforms.
