#TogetherWeAreMagia: 6 New and Returning Ways to Celebrate at Walt Disney World During Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (August 20th, 2024) – Walt Disney World Resort is sprinkling its magia just in time to celebrate Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month, with six new and returning ways for guests and their familias to join the fiesta.  

From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, guests will celebrate #TogetherWeAreMagia with fun and festive música to make them dance and sing, enjoy delicious food & beverage options sure to give them a taste of their cultura, and much more. 

Baila with the Familia Madrigal 

It’s official, the limited time ¡Celebración Encanto! sing-along show has been extended so fans of the Walt Disney Studios film can dance, sing and celebrate with Bruno and Mirabel at CommuniCore Plaza Stage. Featuring beloved characters and songs from the film along with fun trivia to test guests’ knowledge of all things Encanto, the show runs several times a day and is perfect for amigos and familia to enjoy. 

An unforgettable Mariachi experience  

The beautiful traditional sound of Mariachi arrives at EPCOT on Sept. 15. Mariachi Cobre will be performing on select days and times for a limited-time experience. A familiar amigo might even stop by to enjoy the performance so guests should remember to keep their eyes peeled.  

Life imitates arte  

Hispanic and Latin American countries are filled with so many diverse cultures, each with its own forms of art that define and celebrate traditions. Here are some ways Walt Disney World will showcase these customs. 

In honor of the month and available year-round, Disney Springs’ Art Walk will continue to flourish with a new mural addition featuring beautiful motifs live-painted by Nicole Salgar, a Miami-based artist that depicts her Latin roots in all her work. With a passion for sci-fi and folk art, her murals challenge viewers’ perspectives with an emphasis on experimentation. Seeing this new mural is a must-do experience. 

Guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park can learn to draw Dante from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco” and meet Hispanic Pixar animator Ana Ramirez at The Animation Experience at Conservation Station. 

Art of Disney at EPCOT is where art enthusiasts will find paintings, limited-edition prints, figurines and more, with Artist Spotlights highlighting work created by Hispanic or Latin American artists. Artists this year will include Pixar talent Gaston Ugarte, Ana Lacaze and Luis Uribe. 

¡Qué viva la música! 

A celebración isn’t complete without music to dance and sing to, and there will be plenty next month. 

This year during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival presented by CORKCICLE, iconic Latin artists and a fun Latin local Orlando band will grace the America Gardens Theatre stage during the Eat to the Beat Concert Series presented by Florida Blue.

Guests can purchase Eat to the Beat Dining Packages that allow them to enjoy a delicious meal at a select EPCOT restaurants and secure reserved seating at the shows. Reservations can be made at TasteEPCOT.com. 

The 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which will take place Aug. 29 to Nov. 23, will dish up other delights, with more than 30 Global Marketplaces throughout the park. It’s a perfect way for guests to embark on a culinary world tour before they enjoy the show.

Comida for the soul 

Ready to indulge in nostalgia and enjoy flavors reminiscent of home? This year, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival features Hispanic and Latin dishes at Global Marketplaces throughout the park. Son muy delicisos

The fun doesn’t stop there. Guests will discover treats across the Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resort Collection hotels. The official Foodie Guide to Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month will publish on the Disney Parks Blog later this month featuring fan favoritos like the Encanto Cupcake available at Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and the Pollo Guisado available at select locations like the End Zone Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort are returning this year. It’s a “must” read for planning must-tastes.

Join the magia in style with merchandise that pays homage to Disney’s Hispanic and Latin American-inspired characters. From apparel and souvenirs to collectibles, a wide variety of items will be available at Walt Disney World Resort. Adding to the fun, a new collection of items inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Coco” will be available just in time for Hispanic Heritage month.
