Wounded Warriors Prepare for 2024 Warrior Games at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (June 20, 2024) – There was an air of fierce competitiveness and camaraderie Thursday as athletes returned to Walt Disney World Resort for the upcoming 2024 Department of Defense Warrior Games hosted by U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command. Wounded warriors representing each branch of the United States military and Australia’s military were back at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for a day of practice, sharpening their skills in wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball and seated volleyball.

More than 200 military heroes are set to compete in the Warrior Games from June 21-30 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The event is an adaptive sports paralympic-style competition that highlights the exceptional physical skills and mental toughness of wounded, ill and injured active duty and veteran service members.
