It’s the merriest time of the year at Disneyland Resort! From holiday overlays of beloved attractions to the most festive gifts and treats, “The Happiest Place on Earth” is full of wonders to behold during the holiday season. For six-year Resort Enhancement cast member, Ali Peale, who specializes in miniatures, the spirit of the season can be found in even the smallest of places.
A big impact with miniature designs
Prior to the start of her Disney journey, Ali was fascinated by art and design, making puppets and designing miniature sets for stop-motion filmmaking. Her creativity and artistic prowess brought her to the Disneyland Resort where she now showcases her intricate designs on miniatures, something that makes her feel personally connected to Walt Disney.

This year, Ali is spreading holiday cheer on her favorite attraction at Disneyland Resort – Storybook Land Canal Boats. As one of the several opening day attractions from Disneyland park in 1955 that is still operating today, Storybook Land Canal Boats was originally created by Walt Disney. Though it has transformed over its nearly 70 years, it carries on Walt’s legacy and love of miniatures.
“I’m so happy for the opportunity to work on Storybook Land Canal Boats because it is an original opening day attraction,” Ali said. “Walt Disney loved miniatures, and I love miniatures, so I feel closer to him.”
She has added festive touches throughout the attraction, including small holiday rugs outside of the houses inspired by the story of “Three Little Pigs” and delicate wreaths adorning the tiny lampposts that line the London park of “Peter Pan” island.

Having dreamed of working on this storied attraction, Ali enjoys the challenge of the intricate details involved in creating and installing decor on such a small scale. Miniatures are one of her greatest passions and allow her to immerse herself in the minuscule world of Storybook Land Canal Boats.
“When my fellow cast members and I come together to install decor, it’s a team effort. It really is like camaraderie” Ali said. “Disneyland is a wonderful, magical place to work… I love it so much.”
Seeing park guests admire the holiday decor that she and her fellow cast members design and install reminds Ali of the special role she plays in the many special moments during a visit to the Disneyland Resort during this time of the year.
