New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park Fact Sheet

ANAHEIM, Calif. – New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park evokes the energy, elegance, colorful culture, music and architecture of the French Quarter. It features the classic attractions, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion, along with distinctive boutiques and restaurants that give a taste of the Crescent City in the 1800s.

Walt Disney on New Orleans Square: “Disneyland would be a world of Americans, past and present, seen through the eyes of my imagination – a place of warmth and nostalgia, of illusion and color and delight.”

What’s New: Magnolia Park, a new, elegant park-like area adjacent to Tiana’s Palace, is a space that holds memories and history. Now, it serves as a place where guests can relax and enjoy the ambiance and live entertainment under the shade of new and historic trees.

Did you know?

  • Some of the trees in Magnolia Park predate Disneyland Park itself, as they were sourced from Pershing Park in downtown Los Angeles by Disney Imagineer Bill Evans.
  • During the Halloween and Holiday seasons each year, Jack Skellington from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” gives the Haunted Mansion a macabre makeover, complete with jack-o-lanterns, wreaths and a real gingerbread house.
  • New Orleans Square is filled with relics and inspired replications such as mechanical toys, ornate vases, lacy wrought-iron lampposts and railings brought back from New Orleans by Walt Disney and his wife, Lillian.
  • The upper stories of the New Orleans Square buildings are private areas, home to the membership-only Club 33 and 21 Royal, a residence once envisioned by Walt and Lillian Disney as a luxurious oasis for hosting celebrities and dignitaries.
