ANAHEIM, Calif. – Disneyland Resort uses technology to help deliver a great guest experience. With just a click or a tap, guests can use convenient and intuitive digital tools to maximize their visits – creating more time and opportunities to enjoy the magic with family and friends.
The fun all starts with the Disneyland app*, which enables guests to plan their visits, look up latest park information and access special content from their devices. To access all available features, guests should download the latest version of the Disneyland app, enable Location Services and turn on Notifications. The app is intended for use in the U.S. only.
Accessing attractions and experiences
- Lighting Lane Multi Pass: Guests may purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass (formerly known as Disney Genie+ service) to save time waiting in line by selecting the next available arrival window for Lightning Lane entrances on select attractions (subject to limited availability; limit one Lightning Lane selection per experience each day).** Lightning Lane Multi Pass also includes unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads from the day and access to Disney PhotoPass Lenses.*** Guests can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass prior to their visit via the Disneyland website or on the day of their visit via the Disneyland app.
- Lightning Lane Single Pass: Guests can purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass via the Disneyland app for select attractions not included in Lightning Lane Multi Pass (subject to limited availability; limit one Lightning Lane selection per experience per day): Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure Park and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland Park.**
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass: Guests may be able to purchase a Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which allows one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience in both of the Disneyland Resort theme parks to enjoy without requiring guests to book a specific arrival time. The Disneyland Resort is piloting the rollout of Lightning Lane Premier Pass with very limited quantities available.
- Complimentary virtual queue: Some attractions and experiences may require or recommend joining a virtual queue. Guests can join an available virtual queue via the Disneyland app and enjoy other fun offerings while they wait.**** How-to details and a list of experiences currently using virtual queue can be found on Disneyland.com.
Dining and shopping
- Mobile food and beverage ordering: Considered the primary way to order at many quick-service restaurants and candy kitchens, it is recommended that guests place orders early in the day to so their meals are ready at their preferred dining times. Eligible discounts will be automatically applied to guests’ total at checkout.
- Check into dining reservations: Guests with confirmed dining reservations at select locations can check in using the Disneyland app or by scanning the restaurant’s displayed QR code.
- Table-service restaurant walk-up lists: Guests without a dining reservation may be able to add their party to the mobile walk-up list at select table-service restaurants, subject to availability.
- Merchandise mobile checkout: For a speedier in-store shopping experience at select retail locations, guests can scan and pay for select items using the Disneyland app. World of Disney in Downtown Disney District, Emporium at Disneyland Park and Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure Park are among the many shops that offer this service. Eligible discounts will be automatically applied at checkout.
Digital conveniences
- MagicBand+: This wearable offers a seamless way to enter the Disneyland Resort theme parks (valid park admission and reservation required), check into Lightning Lane entrances (separate valid Lightning Lane entry required) and link Disney PhotoPass photos. It also adds immersive elements to select park experiences, entertainment and nighttime spectaculars. MagicBand+ can be easily paired with a smartphone, personalized and updated through the Disneyland app.
- Direct-to-room service: Guests staying at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort can check in online and go directly to their room. Plus, the digital key in the Disneyland app enables guests to unlock their hotel rooms and access common areas with Bluetooth technology-enabled devices.
- Get help via in-app messaging: With the Chat with Us option in the Disneyland app, guests can receive assistance from a cast member on inquiries like general theme park information, tickets and ticket linking, account troubleshooting, MagicBand+ setup and more. Chat with Us is accessible 24 hours a day and cast members will respond during normal operating hours, 7:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. PT.
Fun ways to play
- Complimentary Disney Genie service: Built into the Disneyland app, Disney Genie service helps guests plan their visits with a custom tip board and dynamic itineraries, with attraction and dining recommendations inspired by the things they tell us they’re most interested in doing and seeing.
- Disney PhotoPass Lenses: Guests can capture and interact with the augmented-reality effects of Disney PhotoPass Lenses, which are included with the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Premier Pass. A select number of lenses are only available in designated areas of the parks, while others can be enjoyed across the resort and at home for up to 45 days after the last day of your Lightning Lane Multi Pass entitlement.***
- Play Disney Parks app*: The separate Play Disney Parks app offers unique experiences and family-friendly activities, including games at select attractions and interactive land-wide experiences.
To enter a park, both a theme park reservation and a valid ticket for the same park on the same date is required. ***With the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Disneyland guests can access many Disney PhotoPass Lenses in the Disneyland app as soon as they enter a theme park. Select Disney PhotoPass Lenses are accessible only within designated areas of Disneyland Resort. Other Disney PhotoPass Lenses will remain accessible in the Disneyland app until 5:59 a.m. on the 45th day after the day on which the Lightning Lane Multi Pass was used; certain states and localities are excluded. Many Disney PhotoPass Lenses use technology that detects the coordinates of key points on a guest’s face and/or hands and may be used only by guests 18 years of age and older who have consented to use of this technology. Therefore, guests unable to provide such consent, as well as guests under 18 years of age, will have fewer lenses available to use. To access Disney PhotoPass Lenses, an eligible mobile device with the Disneyland app with access to the device’s camera and location is required.
