Reimagining the Downtown Disney District

Work is underway on the next innovative evolution of the Downtown Disney District, as Disneyland Resort continues to invest in the development of new guest experiences – including new collections of shopping, dining and live entertainment. Drawing inspiration from mid-century modern architecture in Southern California, the west end of the district will be a beautiful blend of vibrant color palettes, multicultural design elements and patterns.

Reimagined dining and entertainment offerings have joined the transforming district:

  • Friends and family can enjoy live entertainment at the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage while relaxing on the lawn and admiring a soaring sculptural tower designed by artist Nikkolas Smith. The tower pays tribute to the sublime work of pioneering architects of color in Southern California during the mid-20th century.
  • Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Chinese restaurant known for its soup dumplings and noodles, opened its first-ever freestanding restaurant at Downtown Disney District.
  • With menus created by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán, PaseoCéntrico and Tiendita offer dining experiences ranging from upscale Mexican cuisine and tequila-based cocktails to on-the-go Mexican street-food staples.
  • Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio offers a modern twist on fresh seafood and flavorful ingredients that celebrate the Gulf and Pacific coasts, while staying true to its New Orleans roots.
  • Beignets Expressed is a fast, friendly and fun counter-service spot, bestowing specialty flavors, seasonal selections and the much-loved New Orleans classic confection.

Even more diverse dining options are coming to Downtown Disney District in the future:

  • Porto’s Bakery and Cafe: An iconic Southern California destination known for its sweet pastries and desserts, as well as delicious California-Cuban-inspired dishes.
  • Earl of Sandwich: Plans are in the works for an all-new, two-story location in Downtown Disney District, with a quick-service Earl of Sandwich shop on the ground level and a table-service gastropub upstairs.
  • Parkside Market: four diverse culinary concepts all under one roof:
    • Seoul Sister is a fast-casual modern eatery that will serve a Korean-forward menu based on bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) with a California twist, an Asian-inspired breakfast menu and hand-crafted drinks.
    • Sip & Sonder is a Black women-owned brand that has been recognized as one of the best cafes in L.A. by the Los Angeles Times. Guests can expect to enjoy signature lattes, fresh treats, frozen drinks and Caribbean-inspired bites.
    • GG’s Chicken Shop will serve a family-friendly menu of chicken sandwiches, salads and classic dinner table sides. This new location will be GG’s Chicken Shop’s first location on the West Coast.
    • The second story bar will be an al fresco spot offering great views with signature craft cocktails and mocktails from mixologists using local ingredients and artful garnishes.

Abundance of flavors

There is something for every taste, from open-air cafés to gourmet treats on-the-go and exquisite table-service meals. More than a dozen locations offer unique settings and flavors, such as:

  • Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes opened its first California location in the heart of the Downtown Disney District. Along with award-winning burgers, signature CrazyShake milkshakes, hearty salads and appetizers, it is the first Black Tap location to offer shakes to-go.
  • For authentic southern Italian cuisine, Naples Ristorante e Bar and the adjacent Napolini Pizzeria offer pizzas, pastas, soups and sandwiches across four different indoor and outdoor seating areas in the Naples corner complex.
  • Ballast Point Brewing Company serves 50 of its innovative beers across 100 taps as well as brewpub-style dishes, shareable plates, salads, sandwiches, burgers and desserts.
