As Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Technology Officer (CDTO) for Disney Experiences, Douglas Leckie leads a global multi-disciplinary team of technologists, designers and innovators dedicated to bringing seamless story integration and sophisticated technology solutions to life for employees and consumers.
The Disney Experiences Tech & Digital teams are responsible for a growing portfolio of more than 400 products and experiences that blend the digital and physical realms and extend Disney’s legendary storytelling, including the Disney theme parks and Disney Cruise Line apps, Lightning Lane, MagicBand+, Disney PhotoPass service, Disney Genie, Hey Disney! and more.
Doug began his Disney career in 1992. In addition to his initial time as a technical analyst and project manager, Doug brings more than 30 years of extensive experience and understanding of the technology industry and its application in the hospitality business. Throughout his career he has been involved in some of the largest and most complex technological projects, delivering industry-first capabilities such as Direct-to-Room Service, FASTPASS, Mobile Order for food & beverage, and the launch of Disney Cruise Line. Doug’s unique ability to drive innovation that fosters bold ideas and delivers industry-first capabilities will continue to elevate the experience for Disney consumers and employees across the globe.
Most recently, Doug was Senior Vice President, Tech & Digital for Disney theme parks in the U.S. where he was responsible for building and delivering the technology supporting key businesses at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. This work covered a wide variety of touchpoints, from systems guests use to enter the theme parks or stay at resort hotels, to applications employees use for forecasting, time recording, and reporting, all benefiting from Doug’s extensive knowledge of the operation.
Doug holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Central Florida, with a double major in Accounting and Information Systems. Doug continues to contribute to his alma mater as a Computer Science Industry Advisory Board member, where he helps shape the curriculum and programs offered by UCF. He also serves on the Central Florida Economic Technology Advisory Board, which continues to position Orlando as one of the top innovation hubs in the country.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Doug is passionate about his time as an advisor for the next generation of senior-level leaders through The Walt Disney Company Black Talent Network. He also invests his time and energy with Special Olympics, where he has actively supported the Special Olympics Florida Golf Invitational for the past 15 years, including serving as Executive Champion in 2021.
