Club Penguin Island celebrates World Penguin Day

Today is World Penguin Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the adorable birds on which the stars of Club Penguin Island are based.

Building on Club Penguin’s proud history of penguin conservation, today the Club Penguin Island team is kicking off a World Penguin Day program that will allow players to join them in these efforts. For every download in the US and Canada from April 25, 2017 – May 25, 2017, Disney will donate $1, for up to a total of $50,000, to protect penguins and their habitats around the world. No purchase is required.

There are approximately 18 penguin species that live in the southern hemisphere and many are facing threats like habitat degradation, pollution and climate change. Every dollar counts and contributes to making a change.

Since 2007, Club Penguin has donated more than $13 million to projects spanning 40 countries, including support for medical clinics and hospitals, programs to help protect endangered wildlife and conserve habitats (in collaboration with the Disney Conservation Fund), clean water systems, playgrounds, hospital care packages, and education programs reaching 1 million kids.

Here are additional ways fans can celebrate World Penguin Day in-game and in the real world:

Everyone who logs in to Club Penguin Island today can collect a World Penguin Day emoji pack and all paid subscribers can collect the exclusive Rockhopper penguin hat.

There are also various World Penguin Day-themed challenges and a Penguin Activity Book available for download here that includes fun facts about our real-life feathered friends.

There is no shortage of things to do on the island – be it hitting the stage, diving for gems or chatting with friends. Club Penguin Island is available now for free download, with an option to purchase a $4.99 monthly recurring membership subscription, on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Users can try Club Penguin Island with a seven-day free trial.
