Community Impact

At Walt Disney World Resort, we believe social responsibility is a long-term investment that serves to strengthen our company, our employees, and our communities.

For more than five decades, Walt Disney World Resort has played an active role in finding solutions
to important matters affecting Floridians. Our company and its cast members show up as a force for good. We inspire a world of difference through the power of storytelling and we strengthen our state in ways only Disney can.

We are constantly investing in nonprofit organizations through volunteering and by making significant financial and non-financial contributions to causes that address basic needs and are valued by our cast members. These efforts range from combatting homelessness, hunger and more. Together, we are creating a brighter future for all who live, work and play in Florida.

In 2023, we provided $1.5 million in new donations to 19 nonprofit organizations through our Disney Grants program. This joins the $33.4 million we provided in total in cash and in-kind donations during fiscal year 2023. Giving back is a proud tradition we are committed to continuing into the future.

Wish Granting

Every year, we proudly fulfill thousands of wishes at Walt Disney World, providing kids and their families with magical, memorable Disney experiences at a time when it’s needed most. As of May 1, 2023, more than 150,000 Disney-inspired wishes have been granted since 1980 through Make-A-Wish.

Meeting Community Needs

Since 1971, Disney has provided hundreds of millions of dollars to nonprofit organizations that address basic community needs. These are just some of the ways we continue showing up as a force for good.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Helps to create hope and nourish lives through a powerful hunger relief network. The Disney Harvest Program supports Second Harvest’s great work in serving more than 40 Orlando-area nonprofits, and for years, Disney VoluntEARS have helped to sort and pack food delivered across the region.

Digital System of Care for Youth

Disney also invested in a collaborative effort to further understand and address youth homelessness, helping to fund a new Digital System of Care for Youth program for Heart of Florida United Way, Zebra Coalition and Homeless Services Network. This mobile platform connects local homeless youth to a network of care and resources.

Habitat for Humanity

Runs a Youth Construction Academy designed to provide the next generation a hands-on education in technical skills within the construction industry – while engaging them in the social aspect of building affordable housing and bettering their community one project at a time.

Hope Partnership

Helps families move into a home of their own while providing wraparound services to help them adjust and find stability.
