Reed Becomes Final Sponsor Exemption for 42nd Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic at Disney

Reed received sponsor exemption previously awarded to Boo Weekley, who got in on his own status following Stephen Ames’ withdrawal; Joins previously announced sponsor exemptions Duffy Waldorf, winner of the 2000 National Car Rental Golf Classic at Disney, Mike Weir, the 2003 Masters champion, and former CMNH Classic champ Joe Durant.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Nov. 2, 2012) — Patrick Reed, who has successfully “Monday qualified” for six PGA TOUR events in 2012, has been added as a sponsor exemption for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic at Walt Disney World, held Nov. 8-11.

Reed is No. 6 on the PGA TOUR Non-Member Money List with $302,977 in earnings this year and just $158,000 away from breaking into the Top 150 and securing his TOUR status for next year. He is coming off a career-best 11th-place finish at the Frys.com Open, missing the Top 10 by only one shot.

The former All-American at Augusta State University has played in 11 tournaments this year, making the cut in seven of the 11 tournaments and finishing in the Top 25 four times.

Reed “Monday qualified” for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans (T24), Wells Fargo Championship (T32), HP Byron Nelson Championship (MC), Travelers Championship (T47), True South Classic (T21) and Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Classic (T22). He’s also competed in the Valero Texas Open (T35), FedEx St.Jude Classic (MC), John Deere Classic (MC), Reno-Tahoe Open (MC) and Frys.com Open (T11) on Sponsor’s Exemptions.

Reed joins previously announced sponsor exemptions Duffy Waldorf, winner of the 2000 National Car Rental Golf Classic at Disney, Mike Weir, the 2003 Masters champion, and former CMNH Classic champ Joe Durant. Reed receives the sponsor exemption previously awarded to Boo Weekley, who got in on his own status following Stephen Ames’ withdrawal.
